Does freshness matter for AI answers?

Yes for anything that changes, like price, formula, availability or 'best of 2026' lists.

Assistants that search the live web favor pages that look current for time-sensitive questions. Put a visible 'last updated' date on key pages and mean it. Don't change the date without changing the content.

Do this

1. Add 'last updated' dates to product, comparison and FAQ pages.
2. Set a quarterly review for every page that mentions prices or formulas.
3. Update your sitemap's lastmod when pages actually change.
