Should you let ChatGPT rewrite your ads?
Not for any campaign that makes a health, nutrition or performance claim. Turn creative enhancements off for those campaigns and leave it on only where a reworded headline can't say anything you couldn't defend.
OpenAI's creative enhancements write new headlines and descriptions from your ad, your landing page and the conversation the ad lands in, and the versions run without anyone approving them. OpenAI's help page says there's no preview of every variation. The FTC's guidance is clear that a brand answers for implied claims as well as the ones it wrote, so 'supports digestion' drifting into 'helps with bloating' is your problem, not OpenAI's. Campaign settings override the account default, which makes it easy to keep the toggle on for a plain sampler-pack campaign and off for the probiotic one.
Do this
- In ChatGPT Ads Manager, open Manage settings and find the Creative enhancement toggle.
- List your campaigns and mark any whose product or landing page carries a health, nutrition, allergen or performance claim.
- Switch enhancements off at the campaign level for those, or at the account level if most of them qualify.
- Read the landing pages of the campaigns you leave on, because that copy is what the rewrites draw from. Cut any line you wouldn't want promoted to a headline.
