Can assistants read the nutrition panel in your product photos?
Don't count on it, so put ingredients, nutrition and allergens on the page as real text.
Some models can read images. Crawlers that build search indexes mostly read text. If your allergen statement only exists as a JPEG of the back of the box, it may as well not exist when someone asks 'is this nut free?'
Do this
- Find every fact that only lives in an image.
- Add it as HTML text, with tables for nutrition.
- Keep the label image too, with descriptive alt text.
